The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has announced that 290,165 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the archipelago up to now.

In addition, until yesterday, the full immunization of 101,580 people had already been achieved in the Canary Islands, who have already received both doses of the vaccine, which represents 7.53% of the target population.

Of the total doses used from the three laboratories approved by the European Medicines Agency to vaccinate in Europe, 208,963 were from Pfizer, 21,411 from Moderna and 59,791 from Astrazéneca.

After immunization with two doses of groups 1 and 2 (those corresponding to residents and workers of social health centers and first-line health professionals), vaccination continues with the rest of the groups established following the criteria of vulnerability and exposure.

Group vaccination

Once the immunization of groups 1 and 2 with both doses is finished, the vaccination schedule continues with the rest of the target population. In this sense, it should be noted that among group 4, that of large household dependents, 72.2% of people are vaccinated with the two doses; an advance that is also noteworthy in group 5, those over 80 years of age who are already vaccinated at 77.1% with one dose and at 21.72 percent with two. Group 3 is already at 99.8% with one dose and 22.15 percent with two doses; and group 6, 26.3% with one dose.

The vaccination calendar will continue to advance every day of the week including weekends and Easter holidays with the aim of vaccinating as many people as soon as possible.
