17-year-old boy on scooter seriously injured in Lanzarote accident

A 17-year-old boy riding a scooter was seriously injured in a collision with a vehicle in Lanzarote. The accident occurred on the LZ-2 highway, at kilometer 13, in the municipality of Tías, on September 5, 2024, at around 4:30 p.m.

According to the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the young man suffered severe multiple injuries and was transported in critical condition to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in a medicalized ambulance.

Following the incident, the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 was alerted and immediately mobilized the necessary emergency services. These included a medicalized ambulance, a basic life support ambulance, as well as a primary care doctor and nurse. The Local Police also attended the scene to handle the necessary reports and investigations.

The injured teen was stabilized at the scene before being transferred to the hospital, while the police conducted an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
