A new heatwave affecting the Canary Islands is starting this Sunday, so Aemet has issued several warnings in regards to high temperatures which will be recorded over the next several days.

The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, just announced today that the forest fire is now considered under control. The roads and access to the forest areas of the island have been reopened since yesterday, with the exception of the areas close to the fire.

During the weekend of July 30 and 31, the Arona Golden Mile will become the epicenter of culture and spirituality in Spain, celebrating the XI Festival of India, which will end on Sunday afternoon with the Hindu Ratha Yatra commemoration, which is one of the most important in Spain, after those in Madrid and Barcelona. ​​

August comes with full-on summer temperatures, very low chances of rain and long sunshine hours all over the island. An episode of intense calima will affect the Canary Islands this weekend, combined with high temperatures ranging from 34 to 38 ºC, mainly affecting inland areas of the islands.

Cabildo de Tenerife has announced that a new fire broke out in the municipality of El Tanque in the area of San José de los Llanos.

The fire that started yesterday morning in Tenerife continues today and for the moment about 200 hectares of public forest have been affected.

The forest fire that started today at 10:19 a.m. in the Los Campeches area, in the municipality of Los Realejos, in Tenerife, has moved to Level 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the request of the Cabildo de Tenerife, so the Government of the Canary Islands has assumed the management of the situation.

A big fiesta is announced for this weekend in Costa de Antigua, Fuerteventura, between July 22 and 24, in celebration of Santiago Apostol, with batucadas, children's parties, musical performances, flamenco shows, fireworks and a foam party.
