Adeje has been crowned Spain’s most competitive tourist destination for the second time in a row, according to the SolyTUR 2024 report by Exceltur. The study, unveiled on March 20, analyzed over 100,000 data points to assess tourism quality, public space improvements, and sustainable development.
Presented at a national tourism forum, the report highlighted Adeje's leadership in high-end business tourism, environmental protections, and social benefits derived from tourism. The Tenerife municipality outperformed competitors such as Calvià, Playa de Palma de Mallorca, Benidorm, and Marbella.
Mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, speaking at the event, credited Adeje's success to public-private collaboration, a strong tourism workforce, and a commitment to sustainability. "Our model focuses on excellence, stability, and environmental respect. Tourism must generate wealth and opportunities for our people," he stated.
Exceltur also recognized Adeje for its top-tier accommodations, responsible tourism policies, and economic performance. The municipality ranked first in coastal protection and enhancement, beach conservation, and tourism-related employment.
With over 80% of its land protected and a thriving tourism sector driving job creation, Adeje continues to set the benchmark for sustainable and competitive tourism in Spain.
