Adeje’s iconic Good Friday Passion Play, La Pasión, returns on April 18 at 12:00 PM along Calle Grande, promising a refreshed and emotionally charged experience for 2025.
This year’s production features major updates, including a newly designed Sanhedrin set, enhanced costumes, and a powerful new scene between Saint Peter and Saint John. Over 300 local performers will take part in the theatrical reenactment of the final days of Jesus, supported by a large creative and technical team.
The day’s events begin earlier with the Nazareno del Perdón procession, starting at the La Viña Hermitage and ending at Santa Úrsula Church, where permission is symbolically granted to begin the main performance.
Visual improvements continue throughout the staging, with upgraded dancer costumes, new Roman soldier details, and a redesigned set for deeper emotional impact. Scenes introduced last year, including the poignant meeting between Mary and Mary Magdalene, return with updated pacing and direction.
The soundtrack has also been refined, with song lyrics adjusted to heighten emotional resonance.
La Pasión will be broadcast live on Televisión Canaria, with regional and national replays across multiple networks. The event will also stream via Adeje’s Facebook and YouTube, with live English commentary on social media.
With each edition, Adeje’s La Pasión continues to grow — blending tradition, faith, and performance into a powerful cultural event.
