Aemet activates several alerts due to high temps in the Canary Islands

The Health Department of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Public Health, has issued health risk warnings due to the forecast of high temperatures in the coming days. These warnings apply to various areas within the islands of Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and El Hierro.

The municipalities affected by the temperature increase include:

GRAN CANARIA (from July 23 to 25)

  • Red Alert: Agüimes, Mogán, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Valsequillo, and Vega de San Mateo.
  • Orange Alert: Artenara, Ingenio, and Santa Brígida.

TENERIFE (from July 23 to 25)

  • Orange Alert: Candelaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
  • Yellow Alert: La Orotava.

EL HIERRO (from July 23 to 25)

  • Yellow alert: El Pinar
