ALDI has opened its first store in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, located in the Sonnenland-Maspalomas area. The supermarket, situated on Camino de Quito Street, spans over 1,100 square meters of sales floor.

The Sonnenland-Maspalomas ALDI store is open to the public every day from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, offering a wide range of primarily private-label products—nearly 90% of the items available—and locally sourced goods. In fact, 20% of the products in the Canary Islands are supplied by over 50 local vendors, providing more than 360 items grown within the archipelago.

The new store employs 19 people, 13 of whom are from San Bartolomé de Tirajana. With this addition, ALDI now has 80 employees in the province of Las Palmas and over 200 across the Canary Islands, where it operates 14 stores, half of them in Las Palmas.

At the store's opening, Juan Manuel Gabella, the Island Director of Commerce, expressed his gratitude for ALDI's commitment to the island, emphasizing its role in creating quality employment. Meanwhile, the mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez, highlighted ALDI's support for local producers and suppliers, as a significant portion of the store’s products are sourced locally.
