The effects of a DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels) will be felt starting from Monday in the Canaries, with a drop in temperatures and rain, especially in the north of the mountainous islands.
Aemet has also issued an orange level alert for coastal phenomena (high waves of up to 6 meters) and strong winds of up to 90 km/h which will affect the entire archipelago on Monday.
Monday forecast
The weather will be mainly cloudy, with persistent weak to moderate rains in the north and interior of the mountainous islands and also in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
Temperatures will drop, especially in midlands areas and summits. Moderate to strong northwest wind, more intense in the afternoon, with very strong gusts on exposed slopes.
The wind gusts can reach up to 90 km/h in the north and summits of Gran Canaria, summits of La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and the north and metropolitan area of Tenerife.
