The municipality of Tuineje, in Fuerteventura, partially hosted the filming of "Foundation", Apple TV's new science fiction series.

The series is based on the saga of futuristic novels written by Isaac Asimov (1920-1992).

This is one of the largest TV productions shot in Fuerteventura between 2020 and 2021, which has involved a large investment, in addition to generating jobs, at a  hard time when the island was gravely affected economically from the lack of tourism, as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the view of Fuerteventura's Film Commission, coordinated by Rayco León, this type of filming in Fuerteventura opens new development opportunities for the island, which could translate into more revenue and jobs in the future.

The Canarian company Sur Film took care of the local production in Fuerteventura.

In addition to Fuerteventura, the filming of this great production was completed in other settings such as Tenerife, Ireland, or Malta.

Filming in Tenerife took place in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island's capital and one of the iconic places that you might be able to recognize is the Heritage Grand Mencey Hotel.
