The Municipal Board of Culture of the Arona City Council will celebrate the Arona Jazz Festival on May 3 and 4 in the Plaza de la Pescadora in Los Cristianos, an event that will have as guests different artists who will be in charge of animating the nights through jazz concerts and subgenres of this.
The Festival will begin this Friday at 9:00 p.m. and is part of the week of celebration of International Jazz Day on April 30.
The first day will feature a performance by Carmela Visone & Ivan Rojas. The singer and songwriter of smooth jazz, neo-soul and Rnb musical styles; and the guitarist and professor at the Canary Islands Conservatory of Music will perform original songs from their three releases 'Carmela Visiones & The Grooves', 'Inner Fight' and 'Just an art'. This group will be in charge of opening the Festival at 9:00 p.m.
At 10:00 p.m. you can enjoy Noa Lur Quintet. The artist, who was chosen by Bobby McFerrin to open his Madgarden Festival concert, has been awarded as one of the best jazz voices in 'Nomme Jazz' and won the Award for Excellence in Jazz Production with her work 'Troublemaker' , produced by Noa Lur, Moisés Sáncjez and Pete Karam. The singer, who has reached number 1 on iTunes Jazz, will begin at 10:00 p.m. in the Plaza de la Pescadora.
On Saturday, the last day of the festival, there will be a performance by Anna Rodríguez, a renowned artist in the Canarian jazz scene, and Pablo Díaz, one of the most influential keyboard players in the Canary Islands, at 9:00 p.m. The artists will take a trip to the golden age of the genre performing original compositions, as well as jazz standards.
The same night, saxophonist Fernando Barrios Quartet will close the celebration of this event with a concert of his original compositions, together with Samuel Labrador and José Miguel Méndez. Fernando Barrios received a scholarship from the Berklee College of Music and has won various awards such as best soloist at the Las Palmas Jazz Festival. In addition, the Canarian artist has participated in the program 'En Clave de Ja'.
