Since Friday, September 23, Mogán City Council has started to administer the beach facilities offered in Puerto Rico, after the company that was previously in charge, Puerto Rico SA, removed their beach hammocks and umbrellas.

The municipal services have started the cleaning work and they are placing the new sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach.

As the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, assured yesterday, Mogán City Council was prepared to start managing the services as soon as possible. Thus, from early yesterday morning, various municipal employees have started work so that the beach is in the best conditions and can be enjoyed by all visitors.

Specifically, the cleaning of the sandbank is being carried out, in order to remove waste like pieces of glass bottles, clothing, cigarette butts and plastic, among others. Likewise, other areas like garden areas and beach accesses are in need of maintenance work.

Based on this, the mayor asks the public, both residents and tourists, "to be patient because it is a beach that has been totally abandoned and the City Council needs time to make the improvements with a significant investment since the previous concession company has not done in all these years despite the benefits that the exploitation of the services has brought them”.

In addition to the cleaning work, the 820 sunbeds and 410 umbrellas are also being placed both in the sand area and on the side breakwater of the beach. For users, a provisional toilet module is available on the adjoining avenue, since the permanent toilet and rescue unit is out for tender.
