A group of beachgoers discovered the body of a man on Tuesday afternoon at Famara beach, where a 28-year-old Indian national had gone missing last Sunday. According to local reports, waves carried the body back to the cove area where the drowning is believed to have occurred, after strong currents dragged the swimmer out to sea.

The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112 received an alert at around 5:05 p.m. from beach users who found the missing man. Emergency teams quickly mobilized both water and land resources, including two jet skis and an off-road vehicle positioned nearby, to bring the body ashore.
Civil Guard officers and local lifeguards were also notified and took part in the operation. Emergency services remain in the area awaiting the arrival of a forensic doctor to oversee the recovery and removal of the body.

This is the second fatal incident reported at the same cove in recent days. On Sunday, a 37-year-old Romanian man also died at Famara beach. The man was rescued from the sea in respiratory arrest, so lifeguards attempted resuscitation, assisted by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) personnel, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have once again urged swimmers to exercise extreme caution in the area, known for its strong currents and unpredictable sea conditions.
