The yellow warning alert for calima continues to be active in the Canary Islands this Sunday, with the suspended dust being more intense in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.

Today's forecast - January 30, 2022

In the eastern islands, generally clear skies, except for some cloudy intervals in the north and interior of Gran Canaria.

In the western islands, cloudy intervals from midday in inland areas, with a low probability of some weak and occasional rain.

Calima will affect especially the islands in the province of Las Palmas.

Temperatures will not suffer big changes, except for a decrease in the minimum in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

Canary Islands airports were affected on Saturday by the low visibility due to the calima

Yesterday minimums in terms of visibility were:

  • Lanzarote: 1800 m
  • Fuerteventura 750 m
  • Gran Canaria 1300 m
