Canary Islands COVID-19 update on Monday, 17 August 2020
Following the announcement of the last figures this past Sunday, the Canary Islands have officially surpassed 1000 active cases of COVID-19, after confirming 146 new cases in the last 24 h.
Out of the 146 positive cases confirmed recently, most of them are in Gran Canaria - 95, while Tenerife also added 29 more cases, Lanzarote 18 and La Gomera 2.
The islands of La Palma, Fuerteventura and El Hierro haven't announced any more new cases.
At the moment there are 1,025 total active cases in the archipelago, while the number of deaths remains at 162 and the number of cases declared cured has reached 2,423.
