A four-year-old boy is in critical condition after being rescued from a hotel pool in Playa Blanca, a popular tourist destination in southern Lanzarote.
The child, who showed severe symptoms of drowning, was quickly transported by a specialized ambulance to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
At around 12:30 PM, the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an urgent call reporting that a young boy had been pulled from a hotel pool unconscious and required immediate medical attention.
A bystander, who identified themselves as a doctor, assessed the situation and found the child in cardiac arrest. The doctor promptly performed CPR, successfully reviving the boy.
Once stabilized by the emergency services (SUC) team, the boy was rushed to the hospital in a critical state.
