For the first time this year, people in Corralejo will celebrate a fun traditional Indian festival dedicated to the arrival of spring, warmth and the triumph of good over evil.
Next Sunday, April 2, the Patricio Calero square in Corralejo will host the first edition of the Holi festival, the "Spring Festival" in the municipality of La Oliva, where Hindu culture and gastronomy will come together with the local cuisine.
The Department of Tourism and the Club Indostánico de Fuerteventura have come together to organize this party where attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy DJs, colored powders, food and drink stalls and lots of water with the aim of filling the town of Fuerteventura with joy. Corralejo and get closer to the Indian culture.
"This event is a party that is also widely popular with British tourism, and that is aligned with the tourism strategy in terms of events held in the municipality, such as "Bellissima" for the Italian sector or OktoberFest" declared the councilor of Tourism, Celino Umpierrez.
The president of the Club Indostánico de Fuerteventura, Jani Mahtani, has pointed out that “with this party, we celebrate not only the beginning of spring, but forgetting the past and starting anew. We want the entire Majorera population to accompany us and live with us this Holi festival that is going to be celebrated for the first time in Fuerteventura.”
The mayoress of La Oliva, Pilar González, joins Mahtani's words, inviting all the local and visiting population to attend this great event for the municipality, "a beautiful party that will be full of light, color, harmony, music and a lot of dancing, where we will get closer to this precious culture.”
