Aemet has announced that they are currently monitoring a DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels) that could be placed in the northeast of the Canary Islands from this Wednesday, which could cause heavy rains over the weekend.
Aemet is actually monitoring a meteorological phenomenon known as a extratropical transition, which could become a DANA and could be located in the proximity of the Canaries from Wednesday on.
According to the prediction models, this could mean that the archipelago could experience meteorological instability and the chances of precipitation will increase over the weekend, since the DANA would be at its closest point to the archipelago on Friday and Saturday.
Heavy rains would occur especially in the mountainous islands, only if the current extratropical transition would evolve to the stage of DANA, which is highly likely according to Aemet.
