The 2022 carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria began to take its first steps towards the next edition, with the choice of its theme. "La Tierra" (The Earth) prevailed over the other two options at stake: "Las Vegas" and "Disco Pop", by achieving the majority support of the juries.
The event first started in Gran Canaria in 2001 and since then it kept growing every year, with thousands of people coming to the island just to participate.
This year will be the 44th edition of Canary Islands Rally (previously knows as El Corte Ingles Rally) and although the dates have been announced, more details about the event are not available yet.
The 2020 edition of the Fuerteventura Windsurfing & Kitesurfing Championship was cancelled due to the pandemic, and the event was postponed for a future date in 2021.
The carnival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the largest event of this kind happening in the Canary Islands and in Spain as well. It is actually the second largest carnival in the world and it is considered by many the best carnival, with the best atmosphere and friendly street parties.
