In normal times, if you were to be in the area of Maspalomas around February or March, we would recommend you to join the fun in the International Carnival of Maspalomas. But in 2021 there will be no carnival, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
The event first started in Gran Canaria in 2001 and since then it kept growing every year, with thousands of people coming to the island just to participate.
Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival is a unique type of event in all the Canary Islands, which is celebrated with a lot of "soul" on the beach in San Agustin, close to Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles.
The Dunas Festival has a long standing tradition in Gran Canaria, celebrated for the first time in 2007. This year the festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary and you can expect a party like no other!
It looks like 2016 brings more interesting in Christmas events in the Canary Islands, as tourism grows and the local authorities are looking to offer more entertainment.
