ALDI has just announced that its logistical platform in the Canary Islands is now finished and has started functioning, so the first ALDI stores in the archipelago will open next month.
The logistical platform is located in Gran Canaria, in Arinaga Industrial Park and it will supply the new stores that the ALDI Nord group plans to open in the archipelago.
ALDI representatives said that 20% of the products on offer will be from local suppliers, so they estimate that they will have around 330 products of Canarian origin in their stores, from more than 40 local producers.
First ALDI stores in the Canary Islands will open on July 13
The first ALDI stores in the Canaries will open on July 13 in Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
There will be 4 stores in total launched on that day, 2 of them in Tenerife and 2 in Gran Canaria. The Tenerife ALDI stores will be located in Los Rodeos, in the municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna and in El Carretón, in the town of Arafo. The Gran Canaria ALDI stores will be located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the area of Miller Bajo and in the municipality of Telde at Cruce de Melenara.
The next round of ALDI stores will open in August in Tenerife, where 3 more shops will be open, which means that Tenerife will have a total of 5 ALDI stores, followed by the opening of an ALDI store in Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura, in September.
