The airline Binter Canarias has announced the flight schedule for the connection between the Canary Islands and the cities of Boston (USA) and Toronto (Canada). These flights will be operated in code-share with the Portuguese company SATA.
The flights from Boston to Gran Canaria and Toronto to Gran Canaria will only be operated during the summer season, between the months of April and October.
The flight, which will make a stop in Punta Delgada in the Azores archipelago, is possible thanks to the code-share agreement between the Canarian airline and the Portuguese airline SATA.
The collaboration between the two airlines improves the comfort of passengers, who can now purchase a single ticket, which includes the stopover in Punta Delgada.
The flights from Gran Canaria to Boston and Toronto will be operating from April 3rd until October 23rd, 2020. Binter and SATA operate the flights between Gran Canaria and Boston on Saturdays and, the other way around, the flights from Boston to Gran Canaria will depart on Fridays, arriving on Saturday at the airport in Las Palmas.
The departure from Boston will be at 21.20 hours to land in Punta Delgada at 06.00 hours on Saturday, from where it will take off at 08.10 hours to land in Gran Canaria at 12.05 hours. The other way around, the flight to Boston will depart from Gran Canaria Airport at 12.40 pm, with a one hour stop in Punta Delgada between 2.40 pm and 3.45 pm, arriving in Boston at 5:25 pm.
The route between the Canary Islands and Toronto will also be operated from April until the end of October, departing from Toronto on Fridays, to arrive in the Canary Islands on Saturday, while the flight will leave from Gran Canaria to Toronto on Saturdays.
In this case, the SATA flight will take off at 9:00 pm from Toronto towards Punta Delgada (Azores, Portugal), where it will make a stop between 06.35 am and 08.10 am local time on Saturday, and it will land in Gran Canaria at 12.05 pm hours.
The flight from Gran Canaria towards Toronto, the capital of Canada, will take off on Saturdays from the Las Palmas airport at 12.40 pm, landing in Punta Delgada (Azores) at 2.40 pm. From there, it will depart at 4:45 p.m. to land in Toronto at 7:45 p.m.
Starting on June 1st, 2020, both routes get an additional frequency per week at the same time.
In the case of Boston, this extra connection will depart on Mondays, with arrival in the Canary Islands on Tuesday, to leave that same day back to the capital of Massachusets.
The additional flight to Toronto will depart from Canada on Monday, arriving in Gran Canaria on Tuesday, while departing that same day back to Toronto.
For visitors from the Boston and Toronto who want to come to the Canary Islands, it will be much easier to buy a single ticket to the archipelago and this is also the case for residents of the Canaries who want to go on holiday to USA or Canada.
From Gran Canaria, visitors can easily travel to Tenerife or the other islands in the archipelago, either by taking another short flight or by ferry.
