Gran Tarajal Carnival 2023 - Dates & Events - Fuerteventura

The carnivals are returning to Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands in general, after a long absence due to the pandemic. Gran Tarajal has announced the dates and theme for the 2023 edition of the carnival.

In 2023 the carnival in Gran Tarajal will take place between March 2nd and March 12th, and the theme will be India.

Schedule - Gran Tarajal Carnival 2023

The daytime carnival is will take place on Saturday, March 4, starting at 12:30 p.m., with performances by the groups Mambo Latino, Vamos y la liamos, Nuevo Klan, Mejor con Copas, and the Del Bueno orchestra. In addition, it will also feature a special performance by Edwin Rivera with the La Sabrosa orchestra, Bomba Orchestra, Kandela and DJ Pedro Cabrera.

The children's gala will take place on Sunday, March 5, starting at 5:00 p.m. On Wednesday, March 8, the family gala will take place, with the participation of the carnival groups.

On Thursday, March 9, at 9:00 p.m., the drag queen gala will be held, with the participation of the best drag queens from the Canary Islands, accompanied by performances by comparsas, choreographic groups and murgas. The gala for the election of the adult queen is scheduled for Friday, March 10, starting at 9:00 p.m.

On Saturday, March 11, the great carnival parade of Gran Tarajal will take place, which will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the departure from the CEIP García Blairzy to the fairgrounds, where the party will begin at 9:00 p.m.

The carnival will come to an end with the burning of the sardine on the avenue of Gran Tarajal with the carnival groups at 6:00 p.m. on March 12.
