Heavy rain in the Canary Islands this Friday. Yellow warning activated also for Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has announced that it has activated a yellow warning alert for heavy rains also on the islands of Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.
Yesterday AEMET had announced that it had activated the yellow alert for Tenerife and La Palma for all day this Thursday, while the alert has now been currently moved for this Friday, November 26.
However, AEMET has updated today the yellow warning (risk) for heavy rains, extending it to the territory of the entire Canary Islands archipelago.
According to AEMET's forecast, the heavy rains will start from tomorrow, November 25, at around 9 a.m. in the eastern part of Tenerife, the metropolitan area of Santa Cruz, as well as the east of La Palma, leaving up to 60 millimeters of accumulated rainfall in 12 hours.
The rainy weather will continue in the rest of the islands on Friday, November 26, affecting especially the northern part of the islands.
Temperatures will also decrease slightly, especially on the eastern coasts. During the daytime, the wind will be low but it will increase in strength at night.
