A 27-year-old German man was rescued on Tuesday afternoon after suffering a fall in a rocky, hard-to-access area at Playa Mujeres, in the municipality of Yaiza, Lanzarote.

According to emergency services, the incident occurred around 1:58 p.m. when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting the accident. The victim had fallen in a coastal area with difficult terrain, requiring an aerial rescue operation.

A rescue helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) was immediately dispatched to the scene. Rescuers were able to reach the injured man, lift him into the aircraft, and evacuate him to Lanzarote Airport, where a medicalized ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) was waiting.

Medical personnel from the SUC provided initial assistance, stabilizing the man, who was reported to have sustained a moderate hip injury. He was then transported to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

In addition to the GES and SUC teams, the operation involved the Lanzarote Fire and Rescue Consortium and the Local Police, who managed the incident and assisted emergency crews at the site.
