Intense weather on La Palma: hailstorm, heavy rain and wind lead to cancelled flights

Intense rain has affected the island of La Palma this Monday morning, which has led to two flights being cancelled, one of them headed from La Palma to Tenerife and the other to Gran Canaria, plus other diverted flights and delays.

The weather today in Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro has been marked by intense precipitation in some areas, overcast skies and strong wind. 

Besides the rain and wind the island of La Palma has also experienced hail today in the areas of Tijarafe and Puntagorda, which can be seen in this video posted on Twitter:

Traffic has been affected on some parts of La Palma due to the rain
