Lajares Artisan Market - Shop for handmade souvenirs from Fuerteventura

The Lajares Artisan Market takes place once a week in the small town of Lajares, in the north of the island of Fuerteventura, in La Oliva municipality.

During its usual hours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Plaza de Lajares will  be filled with a wide range of crafts, as well as entertainment activities for the little ones and live music.

This initiative aims to create “a new meeting space with artists and craftsmen, in which interaction with neighbors and visitors is established and, on the other hand, develop and disseminate arts and crafts, exchange knowledge in the traditional and contemporary of the culture of Fuerteventura, create links between the different nationalities and their cultural riches and, finally, generate self-employment and promote ethical trade”.

“Lajares Artesanal” is a project that is based on the concept of an expotaller, it proposes a fair where visitors will find an exhibition of handmade, unique and original pieces. In addition, they will see part of the production process since within the market there will be open workshops where each artisan will show how they work on their pieces.
