Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to celebrate St. John's Eve with concerts and a fireworks show

The city of Las Palmas in Gran Canaria is preparing a big celebration of the Bonfires of Saint John (Noche de San Juan) in the area of Las Canteras beach, with concerts and fireworks. 

The beach environment will host the musical concerts of Ruts & La Isla Music, David Bustamante and Totó Noriega, who will perform in Plaza de Saulo Torón; while Javier Gurruchaga and the Mondragón Orchestra will perform in Plaza de la Música.

More than 560 kilos of gunpowder will burn at midnight when the sky of the capital's coastline will light up with the colorful fireworks that will be launched from the areas of Los Muellitos and La Puntilla.

Access to the shows will be free until capacity is reached.

After two years of hiatus due to the pandemic, the Las Canteras beach area will once again be the epicenter of the Night of San Juan. A magical evening that will shine with the traditional fireworks shows that will burn more than 560 kilos of gunpowder and the concerts by Ruts & La Isla Music, David Bustamante, Totó Noriega and Javier Gurruchaga and the Mondragón Orchestra.

Plaza Saulo Torón will be filled with music on June 23rd

The Plaza de Saulo Torón and the Plaza de la Música will become the settings for the four scheduled musical events that will start at 9:00 p.m., with Ruts & La Isla Music. 

After her, at 10:15 p.m., David Bustamante will take over. The artist stops in the capital during his “BUSTAMANTE. Twenty years and a destiny » tour, to offer a live performance with all the greatest hits of his career.

Latin music and, more specifically, Cuban music, will be the protagonist of "San Juan Latino". The Totó Noriega show will put the finishing touch to the evening after the traditional fireworks show that will take place at midnight. The concert will start just 15 minutes later, also in Saulo Toró.

"A wonderful party" in the Plaza de la Música

Another musical event will take place in the Plaza de la Música, starring Javier Gurruchaga and the Mondragón Orchestra, who arrive in the capital with a concert that represents a true ode to life, after two years of the pandemic.

The concert will begin at 10:00 p.m.

Two simultaneous fireworks shows in Las Canteras

One of the highlights of the evening will arrive at midnight with the fireworks.

The sky of Las Canteras will light up thanks to the 560 kilograms of gunpowder that will burn in2022 to celebrate the 544th birthday of Gran Canaria's capital.

The fireworks will be launched simultaneously from the areas of Los Muellitos and La Puntilla, which will allow a colorful and impressive fireworks display to be seen from the beach.
