Local police in Mogán arrested a man on Sunday morning, June 22, after he attempted to rob two restaurants in the Playa de Amadores area and assaulted several employees.

According to police reports, the suspect first tried to force open the cash registers of one establishment but fled when officers were alerted and arrived on the scene. He then entered a nearby restaurant, where he managed to access the cash register behind the bar and stole €60.

As staff attempted to stop him, the man violently struck two employees and pushed a female worker to the ground, causing her to suffer significant leg pain. She was taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

Officers arrived moments later and found the man still at the scene. Despite resisting arrest, they were able to subdue and detain him. He is facing charges related to property crimes and violent conduct.

After processing the arrest at the local police station, the suspect was transferred to the Guardia Civil’s main station in Puerto Rico for further investigation.
