
A man lost his life after being rescued from the sea in cardiac arrest near Costa Calma, in the municipality of Pájara, Fuerteventura. The incident occurred on Saturday, November 23rd, at 2:38 PM, as reported by local emergency services.
The Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government received an alert from lifeguards with Pájara’s Beach Rescue Service, who reported that they had pulled a man from the water in cardiac arrest and were performing resuscitation efforts. CECOES immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
Upon arrival, paramedics from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) took over and administered advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the man could not be revived, and his death was confirmed at the scene.
Local Police provided support to the emergency services, while the Guardia Civil secured the area and took custody of the body until the arrival of judicial authorities. The Guardia Civil is also handling the necessary legal proceedings related to the incident.
