A diver died this Tuesday while diving in Puerto del Carmen on the island of Lanzarote. Health personnel have confirmed that the individual remained in cardiorespiratory arrest, and despite continued advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts, they were unsuccessful.
The incident occurred around 12:15 p.m. at the Tiñosa dock in Puerto del Carmen when a boat was bringing the victim to shore. Upon being alerted by CECOES, local police officers and two ambulances—one for basic life support and another equipped for advanced medical care from the Canary Islands Emergency Service—were dispatched.
The police forces activated by the Coordinating Center collaborated with other emergency resources and carried out the necessary procedures.
