Man hospitalized in serious condition after being rescued from hotel pool in Tenerife

On September 28, 2024, at 2:39 p.m., a 72-year-old German man was found showing signs of drowning after being pulled from a hotel swimming pool in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. The incident occurred at a hotel located on Granados Street.

Emergency services were alerted when the man was discovered unconscious in the pool. The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 quickly dispatched the necessary resources, including a medicalized ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC).

Upon arrival, SUC personnel assessed the man’s condition, determining he was in serious condition due to symptoms of drowning. After receiving initial medical attention on the scene, he was transported by the medicalized ambulance to the Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital. The man was admitted to the hospital in serious condition for further treatment.
