A 65-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after being rescued from a hotel pool with signs of drowning in Lanzarote. The incident occurred at 11:38 a.m. on November 28, 2024, in a hotel located on Avenida El Golf in the municipality of Teguise.

According to the Canary Islands Emergency Services (SUC), the man showed severe symptoms of drowning upon initial assessment. He was stabilized at the scene and then transported by a medicalized ambulance to Dr. Jose Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife.

The emergency response was coordinated by the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES 112), which received an alert indicating that a swimmer had been pulled unconscious from the pool and was in cardiac arrest.

Before emergency teams arrived, the hotel lifeguard performed basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers. Upon arrival, SUC personnel administered advanced resuscitation techniques, successfully restoring the man's pulse. Once his condition was stabilized, he was taken to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
