
A serious traffic accident occurred in Lanzarote early on October 7, 2024. The incident took place on the LZ-2 road, just outside Playa Blanca in the direction of Arrecife, in the municipality of Yaiza, at approximately 12:07 AM.
A 30-year-old man suffered a serious hip injury as a result of the accident. The initial medical assessment, provided by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), indicated the severity of the injury. The injured man was stabilized at the scene before being transported to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in a medicalized ambulance.
The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert about the incident, which involved a car overturning and ejecting its driver. Upon receiving the alert, CECOES immediately dispatched the necessary emergency services to the scene.
In addition to the SUC, who provided medical care, the Lanzarote Fire Consortium secured the area and collaborated with medical personnel. Local authorities, including the Guardia Civil and the local police, were also on-site to manage traffic and carry out the necessary legal proceedings regarding the accident.
