Mogán City Council has presented the program for the 5th Summer Mango and Avocado Fair that will take place in the municipality (Playa de Mogán) next Sunday, September 4, starting at 10:00 a.m.
Feria del Mango y el Aguacate de Verano de Mogán
The fair returns to Mogán after two years of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the party will start on Friday, September 2, with the celebration of the 'Night of wines and tapas' (9:00 p.m.).
The fair that will be held in Mogán on September 4 will have earlier mango varieties such as Tolber and Glenw, absent in previous editions, but which will be present this year due to weather changes. The Mum variety, recently introduced in the municipality, and the usual Ostein, Kaith, Valencia, Price and varieties of the country are also added," said Hernández. These changes in the weather "have affected the production of avocados usual for this time of the year, the Antillean ones that we take to this fair, and that we call Summer Avocado," explained the councilor. Despite the decrease in production, they will be available at the fair this year " as well other commercial varieties, also of great quality, such as the well-known Berruga, native to Mogán."
The celebration of the fair that will take place next Sunday in Playa de Mogán will begin a few days before, on Friday, September 2, with the celebration of the 'Night of wines and tapas'.
"As a prelude and as is customary at this fair, we will have a night of wines and tapas where several wineries in Gran Canaria will allow us to taste their wines, as well as several restaurants in the municipality that will also give us tastings of their products," explained Hernández.
