The Councilor for Markets in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, María Ángeles Rodríguez, has announced the market in Maspalomas will resume its activity on Friday, October 1.

Up until now, the markets were temporarily suspended in compliance with the health protocols established by the Government of the Canary Islands for the prevention of COVID-19. However, from next Friday the municipality will be able to organize again its markets after the new sanitary measures established on September 2nd now allow them to be carried out.

With this measure, the artistic-craft markets of the Yumbo Centrum and Varadero Center are resumed, and they can be visited every day from 6 pm until midnight. Visitors will find a wide range of handmade articles, as well as the possibility of buying on-the-spot portraits and caricatures.

On Saturday, October 2, all kinds of textile articles will once again flood the parking lots of the Municipal Market, located on Avenida Alejandro del Castillo. It is one of the most attractive markets for tourists; the Maspalomas Market, which will continue to take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 am to 2 pm.

At the Maspalomas Market, dozens of vendors will offer visitors clothing, footwear, handbags, wallets, costume jewelery, leather and fur items, or handmade jewelry, among other products. In addition, there is the possibility of having an aperitif in a spacious area set up for authorized vehicles for the preparation and sale of food and drink.
