The markets in Playa de Mogán and Arguineguin are restarting in October

mogan market arguineguin gran canaria restarting

The municipal markets in Playa de Mogán and Arguineguín will be organized again from October 1, after more than a year and a half of being suspended as a result of the pandemic.

The municipal markets in the municipality of Mogán will be held with capacity control, the maximum allowed being 75%, that is if Gran Canaria remains in phase 2 of alert level. In order to ensure this limited capacity is respected, the markets will be delimited with fencing and security tape, so that crowds can be avoided.

People who wish to visit them should make use of masks at all times and will find hydroalcoholic gel at their disposal. In addition, there will be a dedicated area for the consumption of food and beverages, so if a person buys food for immediate consumption, they will only be able to eat it in that area.

The Playa de Mogán market will start next Friday, October 1, recovering its usual day of celebration each week.

In the same way, the market in Arguineguín, which will take place again on Tuesdays, will restart on October 5. As a novelty, from then on the Arguineguín municipal market will be held exclusively in the so-called Plaza Negra, and not in Juan Manuel Santana García and Juan Juana streets. On the other hand, also every Tuesday, the craft market will return to the Plaza de Las Marañuelas.

Market hours

  • Playa de Mogan - Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (top of the parking lot, Plaza de las Gañanías, Explanada del Castillete street).
  • Arguineguín - Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Plaza Negra de Arguineguín; Plaza de Las Marañuelas (artisan).
