indoors masks eliminated spain

The requirement to wear masks indoors in Spain will be eliminated just after Easter, it was just been announced today. This change will also apply in the Canary Islands, as the mask rules are currently the same throughout Spain.

The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias announced that the Council of Ministers plans to approve its elimination on April 19, so this decision should go into effect after being published in the BOE.

There will be some places however where masks will remain mandatory: in public transport, nursing homes and hospitals.

This decision marks a new stage with almost no restrictions, as Spain has entered a phase where it's starting to treat Covid-19 similar to the 'flu' since not all cases are being monitored anymore, only those in people over 60 of age or vulnerable persons.
