Aemet has just reactivated the alert for strong wind gusts in the Canary Islands, which will go into effect from Friday, March 4th and will be in place at least until the late hours of Saturday.
The yellow alert from wind will start from 1 pm on Friday and it will cover the whole of the Canary Islands archipelago.
On Saturday Gran Canaria and La Gomera will be on orange alert, which is the maximum level of alert, meaning that the wind speed could reach up to 90 km/h in areas located at high altitudes.
The rest of the islands will remain under yellow warning on Saturday as well, with maximum wind gusts expected to reach up to 70 km/h.
The whole archipelago will also be under an alert for coastal phenomena, meaning high waves up to 4m.
