Moderate rainfall in some areas of the Canary Islands this week and also chances of snow

According to Aemet, the Canary Islands will experience increased instability with possible moderate rainfall on the northern slopes of the mountainous islands.

On Tuesday, January 25, in the north of the higher islands, the weather will be characterized by cloudy skies with the probability of generally weak rains.

In the rest of the Canary Islands, there will be cloudy intervals, without ruling out some weak and occasional precipitation. Temperatures in slight decrease, which will be more significant in the maximum temperatures of interior and northern areas. Moderate wind, somewhat less intense at dawn.

Tuesday temperatures:

  • Palmas de Gran Canaria: min 18°C max 22°C
  • Santa Cruz of Tenerife: min 17°C max 20°C

On Wednesday the rainfall will intensify, with a higher probability in the midlands and high areas of the mountainous islands, especially on the north-facing slopes. The temperatures will be in a slight descent and the wind will be moderate, more intense on the northwest and southeast slopes.

Aemet also warned that there is a possibility of snowfall in Tenerife and La Palma, at altitudes higher than 2,100 or 2,200 meters.

The rain will subside from Thursday, with only low chances of some rain in the north of the higher islands.
