Cabildo de Tenerife has announced that a new fire broke out in the municipality of El Tanque in the area of San José de los Llanos.

The fire outbreak in El Tanque is now contained and has affected around 6 hectares of land.
Firefighters are in the area trying to contain the new fire, while the work also continues in the area of the first fire, which is now affecting around 500 hectares of forest in Tenerife, and has a perimeter of 11 kilometers and is spread between the municipalities of Los Realejos, San Juan de la Rambla and La Guancha.
Around 170 ground troops are part of the fire-extinguishing operation, which also gets support personnel from other departments like security forces, health and logistics operations, exceeding in total 250 professionals.
In addition, the helicopters are also on the scene working on trying to contain the fire.
Weather conditions are forecast to improve tonight, with lower temperatures and higher relative humidity.
