Fuerteventura starts its presence in the World Travel Market (WTM) with very good data from the British market, which continues to be interested in the island as a destination for beach holidays.

According to data, this winter there is a 48% increase in the total number of air seats compared to 2019. Also, Ryanair has recently started operating a new weekly route between Fuerteventura and Newcastle. This is an "excellent figure that confirms the recovery of the sector" and that reinforces the promotion that, as of today, Monday, November 7, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura is carrying out in London together with its Tourist Board, headed by President Sergio Lloret and the Minister of Tourism, Jessica de León.

President Lloret wanted to highlight how “the evolution of the English market is being very positive for Fuerteventura, especially with the data that we know today. Looking ahead to 2023, Fuerteventura intends to strengthen its main markets, which are Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as carry out actions that allow us to consolidate other markets such as Italy, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Ireland and Poland, among others. And this fair in London is a strategic point to start working on those objectives”.

The manager of the Tourist Board, José Sanabria, the manager of Asofuer, Mario de la Cruz, as well as representatives of several hotel chains on the island, are also attending this edition of the WTM 2022, in order to achieve the best possible promotion of the island and achieve trade agreements that attract a greater number of British tourists to Fuerteventura.
