
A paraglider was seriously injured on Tuesday morning after suffering a fall in Playa de la Cantería, located in the municipality of Haría, Lanzarote. The incident occurred at approximately 11:02 a.m. on 25 November 2025.
According to the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the victim is a man who was found with multiple serious traumatic injuries. He was stabilised at the scene and later transported by a SUC medicalised ambulance to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
The Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 112 received the initial alert, which indicated that the paraglider required immediate medical assistance after crashing in the area. Emergency teams were activated without delay.
Firefighters from the Lanzarote Safety, Emergency, Rescue, Prevention and Firefighting Consortium, together with Protección Civil and the Local Police, carried out the rescue operation to reach and secure the injured man. Medical personnel from SUC then assessed and assisted him before transferring him to hospital.
Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances leading to the accident. The man remains in serious condition.
