On September 17th, the Local Police of La Oliva carried out an operation in Corralejo, removing 242 electric scooters from public spaces.

These vehicles, known as personal mobility devices (PMDs), lacked the required permit to operate in public areas and were subsequently transferred to the municipal impound lot. As a result of this operation, sanction proceedings have been initiated for those responsible for the violations.

The number of fines related to the improper use of these vehicles has increased significantly in recent months. Authorities have noted that incidents and accidents involving PMDs have risen sharply, leading to more frequent police interventions and penalties.

The Department of Public Safety emphasized the importance of both companies and users complying with the regulations governing the use of personal mobility devices. The Local Police continue to monitor compliance closely to ensure the safety of pedestrians and drivers on the streets of La Oliva.
