As the volcanic eruption on La Palma continues, the island has been the scene of some unique occurrences recently, when a new eruptive mouth opened up from under a house.
This happened yesterday afternoon, on Thursday, November 26 and it was confirmed by Ayuntamiento of El Paso, who noticed this during a surveillance drone flight.
The new fissure is located in the upper area of Corazoncillo, in Las Manchas, and as you can see in the video below, it starts right from the entrance door to a house. You can observe it best at minute 2:15 in the video.
According to more today's reports, it seems that already the new fissure is not emitting lava anymore and that the house is still standing, despite the flow of lava that came out from under it.
As it was announced by AEMET, yesterday there have been 785 lightning flashes occurrences around the Canary Islands, which is the highest number recorded since 25 October 2018.
The amazing image below was posted by Antonio Camacho (@acamacholoz) and in it you can see the electrical storm on one side and the eruptive process of the volcano on the other, illuminating the night sky of La Palma.
