On the evening of September 3, 2024, a vehicle overturned on a dirt road between the Playas de Papagayo and Playa Blanca in the Los Ajaches area of Yaiza, Lanzarote. The incident occurred at approximately 6:42 PM.
Emergency services, including the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), responded promptly to the scene. Upon arrival, the SUC team found that the vehicle’s occupants had already managed to exit the overturned car. The medical team assessed six individuals, providing assistance and determining the severity of their injuries.
Three of the men involved in the accident sustained moderate injuries. One suffered facial trauma and neck pain, another had injuries to his shoulder and chest, and a third individual was treated for neck pain. All three were transported to Hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa in Lanzarote by basic life support ambulances.
The other three men suffered only minor injuries, consisting mainly of bruises. After being evaluated on-site, they were taken to a local health center for further examination.
In addition to the SUC, other emergency services were mobilized by the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112, including the Lanzarote Fire Brigade, the Civil Guard, and the Local Police. The firefighters secured the vehicle and assisted the medical team in transporting the injured to the health center. The police carried out the necessary investigations following the incident.
