Tenerife fire keeps growing, reaching Icod de Los Vinos municipality
The fire in Tenerife has currently affected around 800 hectares of forest, although throughout the night more than 150 extinction personnel have worked and in the morning also the aerial operations have resumed.

The fire has entered the western zone of Icod de los Vinos, so there are currently 4 municipalities affected by the fire in Tenerife.
Notice: The Minister of Public Administrations, Justice and Security reminds visitors and residents that access and any activity in the mountains of Tenerife are currently prohibited.
This Saturday, a firefighter seaplane from Malaga and a helicopter from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria have also joined the teams already working in Tenerife. By land, the number of troops deployed will also increase with 18 members of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and seven vehicles.
The Minister of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, Julio Pérez, highlighted that although the area affected by the fire has increased it continues to be far from the populated areas and it does not affect any homes.
Julio Pérez reminded people that the Cabildo de Tenerife has prohibited access to the mountains of the island, suspended all activities and closed the recreational and camping areas.
The area currently affected is around 2,000 hectares, with a perimeter of around 20 kilometers and covers four municipalities: Los Realejos, La Guancha, Icod de Los Vinos and San Juan de la Rambla, whose forest mass is the one that has suffered the most damage.
Unfortunately, due to a change in direction of the wind, the secondary front of the fire has become the main one, so the blazes increased in the area towards Los Realejos, reaching the vicinity of the Teide National Park, specifically La Fortaleza.
