The Cabildo de Tenerife, through Turismo de Tenerife, has developed several promotional actions with a dozen travel agents to the destination and participates in the Top Resa fair in Paris
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through Turismo de Tenerife, has launched different actions to promote the island as a destination in France, a market that will increase its regular air capacity to Tenerife in the coming winter season by 22% compared to 2021, and 52% compared to 2019.
The Island Director of Tourism of the Cabildo, Laura Castro, explains that "in recent weeks the island has received a dozen French travel agents and we have participated in the Top Resa fair in Paris, the only professional fair specialized in tourism in France, which brought together travel agents, tour operators and the specialized press".
In this sense, Laura Castro highlights the importance of the French market for the island and explains that "the increase in air connectivity to Tenerife will allow the island to be connected during the winter season with up to 10 French airports, with some new routes or connections from Marseille, Lille, Lyon, Bordeaux or Nantes, operated by airlines such as Volotea, Ryanair or Transavia". In addition, she recalls that in the first half of the year the island received 95,000 French tourists, 12 percent more than in the same period in 2021.
For his part, the CEO of Tenerife Tourism, David Pérez, points out that "the French market is following a line of sustained growth, climbing positions and positioning itself as one of the five largest issuers of travelers to the island."
For this reason, "the Cabildo has renewed the island representative office in France and increased the promotion budget for the French market with the aim of consolidating this growth linked to the diversification and resilience strategy of the Tenerife destination. Most of the actions and promotional plans scheduled for 2023 are already planned and the objectives for the year are marked", he asserts.
Travel agent visit
French travel agents have visited Tenerife on a trip organized by Turismo de Tenerife, which took place between the 11th and the 15th of October and was attended by 10 professionals from Paris, Nice, and Toulouse, specially selected from agencies specializing in tailor-made luxury travel and golf.
Visitors were able to enjoy a helicopter tour of the south coast of the island, a guided tour of La Laguna (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), stargazing and an excursion to the Teide National Park. They also had the opportunity to get to know some of the most outstanding accommodations on the island, as well as the different golf courses scattered throughout the island territory.
In addition, at the end of September, representatives of Turismo de Tenerife attended the Top Resa fair in Paris as part of the Turespaña stand and the delegation from Tenerife was made up, in addition to personnel from Tourism of Tenerife, by several of its associated companies, including Belive Hotels, Landmar Hotels, Hotel Mynd Adeje, Hotel Gala, and the receptive agencies Viajes Meridiano and LG Tours.
