A serious traffic accident occurred on September 17, 2024, at 13:42 on the LZ-1 road near the Costa Teguise intersection, within the municipality of Teguise, Lanzarote.
The accident involved a head-on collision between two vehicles, resulting in three individuals suffering serious injuries.
The Canary Islands Emergency Services (SUC) were immediately alerted by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands Government. Upon receiving the call, they promptly dispatched a medical team to the scene.
The SUC team assessed and provided emergency care to the three injured individuals. A 56-year-old man and another man, both suffering from severe multiple traumas, as well as a woman with similar injuries, were stabilized at the scene. All three were then transported by ambulance to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote for further treatment.
In addition to the medical teams, the emergency response included the presence of the Civil Guard, who regulated traffic and conducted the necessary investigation. Firefighters from the Lanzarote Consortium for Safety, Emergencies, and Rescue were also deployed to secure the vehicles and free one of the victims from the wreckage.
