It was just announced that travellers going to the UK will be required to have a Covid test before their departure in an effort to limit the spread of the new Omicron variant.

Sajid Javid, the UK's Health Secretary,  said this new requirement will come into effect from 04:00 am on Tuesday, December 7th.

Travellers will need to submit evidence of either a negative lateral flow test or a PCR test in order to be allowed to travel to the UK.

Until Tuesday, when this new rule will be in force, travellers just need to take a day 2 test and isolate themselves until they get the results.
