Two men injured due to an explosion on a boat in Lanzarote

Two men, aged 46 and 43, sustained moderate burns following an explosion on a boat, according to the Emergency Consortium.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 8:22 PM in Puerto Calero, Yaiza municipality. The explosion was followed by a fire in the engine room.

Upon receiving the alert from CECOES, local police, the Civil Guard, firefighters, two ambulances (one basic life support and one advanced life support), and maritime rescue services were dispatched to the scene.

Medical personnel treated the injured men, who suffered moderate burns. After being stabilized, they were transported by ambulance to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and the Civil Guard has initiated the corresponding investigation.
